If you like to be pampered, consider the level of personal service offered onboard the M/Y Caledonia. The ship has ample space for 4-8 guests in
separate state rooms and 4 crew members (if you desire a crew) who will attend to your every need.

AFFORDABILITY
It really is no more expensive to charter a private yacht than it is to book a cabin on a mega-cruise ship where you will "experience Alaska" or other ports of call with two thousand strangers. Only, in our case, the price you pay includes things the larger cruise lines don't offer or only offer at an additional price...like exclusivity; a custom, off-the-beaten-track itinerary; daily menus that can be tailored to your liking; daily fishing, hiking or kayaking if you desire; an enthusiastic local guide who knows where the fish are biting and where the wildlife is best viewed.
LOCAL EXPERTISE
Often, what makes a trip especially memorable are opportunities to interact with local people and see the place you are visiting through their eyes. Aboard the Caledonia, you will be living with real Alaskans for the entire week, hearing their stories and sharing new experiences with them.

COMFORT
There is no lack of comfort on a smaller boat as opposed to a larger cruise ship. M/V Caledonia is a modern steel ship with an interior totally remodeled in 2001.
She has four fully heated staterooms each with a separate ensuite head and viewing ports. Our recent refurbishments include new granite showers and countertops with highly polished imported stainless steel sinks, new bedspreads and towel bars, a new hot water heater and re-varnished and newly wall-papered interior. Other important amenities include the 35 gallon per hour water-maker which produces plenty of fresh water for showers after a hard day at the beach or fishing.

The yacht has a rear-enclosed salon and a fully covered walkway plus unobstructed viewing from the fly bridge area, which is also covered. The headroom throughout the yacht averages about 6 foot 8 inches--good for you tall Texans. Penni, an interior designer, has excellent taste and has put immense energy into redecorating the Caledonia for your comfort and pleasure.

What do you want to do? Whether you want to fish all day, kayak or motor closer to marine life for better viewing, hike to a natural hot spring, or shop in port, we offer a range of activities and the assistance of a knowledgeable crew to ensure that your experience is well-rounded. We have two new two-person kayaks and a hard-bottom inflatable with a 50hp outboard motor. These extra craft can be used for fishing, wildlife photography, exploring closer to shore...whatever the moment calls for. Also, Caledonia herself was designed for extensive travel to and from Europe.
PRIOR SUCCESSES
Penni and I want you all to know that we are "chartering" for a life-style because we enjoy sharing with other people, plain and simple. Our experience in hospitality extends twenty five years, mainly in the bed and breakfast industry where we have had incredible success with our three restored historic homes located in Seattle, Washington. We credit the success of our endeavors to our own perseverance, to the people we have surrounded ourselves with and to the enormous enthusiasm we both bring to the table. Caledonia is an off-shoot of our previous successes, and our personal choice to take time-out to enjoy a lot of what life has to offer--and do it with people who want to enjoy life now, just as we do.

The M/V Caledonia is owned and operated by Alaska and Northwest Charters, LLC, an Alaskan Corporation licensed by the State of Alaska. If you have a qualified captain whom you would like to use, please contact us for details and options.
We will be happy to supply you with references if you so desire. We are here to provide you with a safe and memorable chartering experience.
Alaska and Northwest Charters reserves the right to make changes in the schedules for any reason up to 6 months before the charter; or at any time if necessary for the safety of the guests.
Alaska and Northwest Charters reserves the right to substitute crew and also substitute any vessel of similar or superior quality to fulfill your charter needs.
