Wow! How can one put into words the experience of going to Heaven and back?

Alaska, where the clouds envelope all around, God’s country, full of His greatness, vast expanses, marvelous creatures.  We enjoyed them all in the comfort of the “Caledonia”  and its crew.  Brian’s delicious cuisine and Richard’s expertise in finding the big fishing spots and then knowing just how to get them to bite, Penni’s happy whistling and gracious hospitality and Captain Bob’s diplomacy and sense of humor and finesse at getting us from point to point safely home even through the ice.  We will never forget you who have so quickly become, our new Alaskan kin.  Even Sam made sure we never missed an important event as he yapped with excitement when eagles, whales or adventures in fishing were at hand.  Tim caught the “Big One” at 5’3”, 127 # so until next time, he is the Big Kahona.

Thank you all for our most memorable time.        M.B.S. & Family, Kansas  2005

I’ve been trying to figure out who would not enjoy this trip and I’ve finally got it, Our friends and relatives who will have to listen to us brag about it for years to come.

On the other hand, you would only enjoy it if you liked laughs, sunshine everyday, whales, bears, eagles, glaciers, sunsets, more laughs, mountain goats(“see that little white spot?) and Sam.

Or if you enjoyed dining on fresh Cohos and Kings, Trout and Flounder,Sea Bass and Halibut……I think even the bacon and eggs, sausage and potatoes were freshly caught…..and COOOOKIES, Dr Atkins, take us away!

Thanks to everyone of you for delivering such an unforgettable week.     M.A & M.F. Penn.  2005

To the Crew!

Thank you so much for a wonderful trip that we will never forget!  Your kind and generous ways have been much appreciated.  Thank you for always being willing to fix “another” dish for Ty, and being an outstanding cook!  Richard: Thank you for the 4:ooam fishing trips and showing my Dad an outstanding time.  We all enjoyed everything.  May you all be safe on your future journeys.  God Bless D.W. Tenn.  2005

I’ve had so much fun in Alaska.  You laughed at all my jokes and it really brought our family closer.  T.K.  Tenn.  2005

Dear Capt. Bob, Penni, Brian and Richard,

You guys are the GREATEST!  We felt so safe and comfortable aboard Caledonia.  You motored us around some of the most beautiful country in the world, helped us catch some very tasty halibut (even pulled in a 115 pounder), salmon and sea bass.  You served us (way too much food) delicious, gourmet food, and treated us to the hospitality in all of Alaska.  We’ll never forget our “Glacier Dip”.  The soak in the Baranof Hot Springs (with coffee and hot chocolate afterward!), Sammy defending us from the whales.  the bear catching salmon in Kake, our ”Rock & Roll” boat trip looking for salmon, hot tubbing while whale watching(!!!), getting to see eagles, otters, bear, whales, puffins and sea lions for the first time in the wild, fantastic food, great dancing, warm hospitality and great fun times.  Thanks for making our trip so special and unforgettable!

Warm Regards from Colorado and New Mexico.        S.E. & Mc  Families  2005

Roland Martin and Walt Reynolds with one of the many huge halibut caught in August 2003 while filming aboard the Caledonia. "The fishing was absolutely great, our guide a true professional, and the hospitality was outstanding. "Penni and Bob, you have the finest trip anyone could ever imagine for seeing Alaskan beauty and enjoying the great fishing of this area." says Roland Martin.  "Of all the trips we have taken around the world while filming, this ranks in the top 5 overall." Roland continued.

The trip from Seattle to Sitka was absolutely magical. The splendid scenery--the graceful Caledonia, the water, the dolphins, the fish, the whales, the great villages. All amidst the amazing hospitality of Penni and Bob, the incredibly fabulous meals by our talented Chef and fantastic fishing with our guide. It was all magical. Our thanks and great appreciation for all.

Sometimes you just land on your feet. This has renewed my interest in Conservation. Alaska is certainly yet to be spoiled. Thank you for a great experience of wilderness with class I won't soon forget the things that I may never see again.

With every good Wish,
